IslamQuest – Privacy Policy

IslamQuest ("we", "our", or "us") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it is used and shared, how it is stored, and your rights when using the IslamQuest mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account and use IslamQuest, we may collect:

• Email address and authentication identifiers
• Display name/handle and optional avatar
• App activity such as lessons completed, quiz results, streaks, XP, challenges and learning progress
• Purchase and premium-entitlement status
• Device and app identifiers used for app functionality, notifications, security and analytics
• Technical and diagnostic information such as device type, app events and crash/error information

We do not collect:

• Your real name unless you choose to use it as your display name
• Precise location data
• Your contacts or address book
• Your payment card details

2. How We Use Information

• To create, authenticate and manage your account
• To save and sync learning progress and social/challenge features
• To provide Premium features and restore purchases
• To send requested or permitted notifications
• To maintain security, prevent abuse and diagnose problems
• To understand app usage and improve reliability and functionality

3. Authentication and Data Storage

IslamQuest uses Supabase for authentication and secure cloud data storage. Depending on the sign-in method you choose, authentication may also involve Apple or Google. Passwords are handled by the authentication provider and are not visible to us.

4. Purchases

Premium purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your device. RevenueCat is used to manage purchase status and Premium entitlements. IslamQuest does not collect or store payment card details.

5. Push Notifications

IslamQuest uses OneSignal and the relevant platform notification services to deliver notifications such as friend requests, challenge activity and reminders when you permit notifications. Notification/device identifiers may be processed for this purpose.

6. Data Sharing and Service Providers

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the app, provide requested features, comply with law, or protect the service. Service providers may include Supabase, Apple, Google, RevenueCat and OneSignal.

7. Data Retention

Your account data is retained while your account is active. When you delete your IslamQuest account, associated account and app data is removed from our active systems except where retention is required by law or necessary for legitimate security, fraud-prevention or transaction-record obligations.

8. Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your account from within IslamQuest in Settings. This removes your IslamQuest authentication record and associated app data from our systems. If you signed in with Apple and automatic Apple credential revocation is not available, the app may direct you to Apple’s instructions to remove IslamQuest from Apps Using Apple ID.

9. Children’s Privacy

IslamQuest is not directed toward children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data without appropriate consent, contact us and we will investigate and take appropriate action.

10. Your Choices

You can manage notification permissions through your device settings, update profile information in the app, and delete your account from Settings.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
